Transformers Movie

- POSTED BY adrian ON Sat 30th Jun 2007 @ 5:37 pm

Why is it always the trailer for the movie is better than the actual movie itself??  Why ar?  Watching the trailer you’ll be dying to see the movie.

The camera views for the fight scenes were just too close for my liking.  Many times, I just saw two robots flash by the screen.  I don’t know whether they were fighting or giving each other a hug.  Would have preferred it if they used the old Ultraman vs Monster style of view where you get to see the full scale battle.  I liked Shia Labeouf in the Greatest Game Ever Played but in this one, somehow felt like he was overacting it just a little.  And Megatron die like that ar!?  AW, C’MON!!  At least give the guy a better death lar… leader of the Decepticons wei!

I won’t mention too much here and ruin it for those who haven’t seen the movie yet.  For me, it was just ok.  Well there’s always Transformers 2.

Transformers RobotCon 2007

- POSTED BY adrian ON Fri 29th Jun 2007 @ 10:39 pm

I went to Jusco Metro Prima today after collecting my daugther’s report card.  There’s a new TGV cinema on the rooftop and since it was early in the morning

Tickets on a weekday, I figured there would be no one there and I could easily get some Transformers tickets.  Well I was wrong.  There were actually some people waiting in line.  Most of them were in office attire.  Since the line wasn’t too long and I was already there, might as well get in line.  The end results are four tickets for tomorrow’s screening at 11am.

I grew up on two cartoons, the Transformers and the ThunderCats.  My kids are too young to know anything about the Transformers but last weekend we were at RobotCon 2007, Cineleisure Mutiara Damansara.  Watching the movie trailer and all the robot models on display got them excited.

RobotCon 2007

Many centuries ago, I had a hobby of building scale models; tanks, planes, dioramas and sometimes robots.  I stopped after I got married because the fumes from the airbrush could actually be harmful to your health.  So RobotCon was quite fun for me.

I told my wife that my son likes robots and we should go check it.  Come on lar, I’m 35 years old, cannot roll around the floor or manja-manja right?  Sometimes have to use the kids as excuse. If not, want kids for what? :)

There were half hourly contests being held on the stage and I managed to win some goodies.  Ok, to be honest it was more like them giving out freebies then making us win it.  I was first on stage and answered correctly to a question that I could only barely hear.  But I knew the answer had to be Kingston, since the contest was organized by them.  It’s always the case with all these Q&A contests.  The answer to the first question is always the contest organizer. :P

Bolehland Chinese Wedding Dinner

- POSTED BY adrian ON Tue 26th Jun 2007 @ 1:13 pm

Last night I attended a friend’s wedding dinner held at Royal China in Jalan Ampang.  The invitation card I had stated 7.00pm sharp.  I knew that since it’s a Chinese wedding dinner, it will probably start late.  Our tradition mah!  Also Malaysians were got understand the word sharp wan.  Sharp means tajam you know!  What the heck is 7.00pm tajam??
7pm sharp

Anyway I thought it would be in my best interest to be about 10-15 minutes late.  I left my home in Sri Damansara at 6.30pm because I couldn’t get my hair to stand up right. :P

I started to worry that I was going to be the last to arrive and all my heng tais and their wives will shout at me "Woi! Kum chee kar!!" or in the case of my English educated friends, "Hello! Kum chee kar!!".  But I’m a licensed F1 driver and I managed to reach Jalan Ampang in 35 minutes.

When I walked in, I really didn’t expect the place to be that empty.  There were less than 10 guests in the whole restaurant!!  The place was only filled up one and a half hours later at 8.40pm!  How does one walk in knowing that you are more than one hour late and not be embarrassed!?  Can only happen in Bolehland.

Proceedings started 5 minutes later.  First the married couple made their grand entrance.  Then we had to wait for a few more minutes in the dark for the waiters/waitresses to strut their mojo, which was basically balancing our first course up in the air, walking from one corner to the other corner and shouting something in Cantonese which we couldn’t make out what it was.  My guess is it’s some kind of "Bon appetit" in Cantonese?  But if I were the restaurant manager, I would make them shout "EVERY MORNING 9AM TO 11AM WE GOT SERVE DIM SUM!  CHEAPEST IN KL!  BEST IN KL!  SEKALI MAKAN PASTI NAK LAGI!  RESTAURANT ROYAL CHINA IS DAA BEEEST!!!".  At least give people know mah.

Overall the dinner was good.  I didn’t take any photos because we were all hungry like bears.  If I took photos instead of the food, I would end up eating my finger nails.

Futsal = gout & pain

- POSTED BY adrian ON Mon 25th Jun 2007 @ 11:08 am

After a 3 month break from futsal, I made a comeback last Saturday night.  On Sunday I was in some considerable pain.  My ankles were sore and my right knee hurt as if it had been stepped on by two elephants and a sumo wrestler.  Each

Swallon knee small hop I took was followed with either an "Arrgh" or "Ohh".  I’m feeling better now but I’m still limping and my knee is still swollen.  But what do you expect when a 35 year old overweight buffalo plays with a group of 20 plus year old energizer bunnies.  It also doesn’t help if you suffer from gout.

According to my doctor, playing futsal for 2 hours straight is not advisable if you suffer from gout because you tend get a gout reaction.  I know my right knee is
Medication a reaction because I have had the same reaction sometimes after a heavy seafood meal or a drinking session.  A person who gets gout for the first time generally gets a reaction in the big toes.  But I’ve passed the big toe stage.  My gout reactions are in my knees.  Advance leh…

Anyway I’m accustomed to living with pain.  I think for the past 5 years or so, pain has been a part of my life.  I can’t remember the last time I went 2 weeks without some form of pain, whether it’s gout or just the stress on my joints.  Another thing that is part of my life is painkillers.  Man, I take those buggers like vitamins!

Kena conned by KFC

- POSTED BY adrian ON Fri 22nd Jun 2007 @ 3:33 am

My daughter has mandarin classes on Thursdays so after I dropped her off at school, I have two hours to kill which usually meant going jalan-jalan or working on my notebook at a cafe.  Yesterday, my son tagged along which meant work was out of the question.  So we ended up at Carrefour Kepong.  Jalan-jalaned for awhile until we had about half an hour left before we had to leave.  I normally don’t take lunch but all the walking around started to make me hungry. :)

There are a few eateries around but I thought KFC would be the best simply because we’re short on time and its fast food. Genius, I know!

I knew I’d made the right choice when I saw this.

KFC Chicken chop poster
Walaueh! Golden brown super crunchy chicken chop! Look at
the size of that thing! Look at that yummy thick black sauce!

But what you really get is this plate of crap. :P

The real thing
What da heck!? The bun is almost larger than the chicken!!!
Is that sauce or coloured water?
Mushroom soup served in prisons
This is the kind of mushroom soup they serve in prisons.
Really disappointing.  The chicken is almost the same size as the bun which is not what their poster shows.  Their black pepper sauce is nothing like what is shown on their poster. The mushroom soup taste like Prison Break food. Niamah!

Two more rape incidents in JB

- POSTED BY adrian ON Thu 21st Jun 2007 @ 9:45 am

Why are there so many savage criminals in JB??  I support the death sentence for these criminals who take advantage of the underage.  Better yet, let’s cane these animals before executing them.  And why does the govt only act after the rakyat held protest and JB’s tourism have been affected??  The govt today announced that they are sending 400 policemen to JB.  They’re also ordering a crackdown on crime.  Well it’s about time!  But how many innocent people have been hurt and I’m not just talking about the rape victims.  Family members, fathers, mothers had been hurt as well.  This is always the case in Bolehland.  Action is only taken when the shit hits the fan.

Two rape incidents in Johor Baru, just six hours apart

JOHOR BARU: A schoolgirl was raped by four men and another by a bogus policeman in two separate incidents within a six-hour period.

In the first incident, a 16-year-old schoolgirl who had quarrelled with her boyfriend went to calm her feelings at a lake in Taman Tasik Dahlia, Pasir Gudang, at about 12.30am here yesterday.

Four men on motorcycles turned up, started harassing her and forced her on to one of the motorcycles.

They then took her to a secluded area near some factories in Tanjung Langsat and took turns to rape her.

After that, they dropped her off at the lake and fled.

The victim flagged down a taxi to get home and later lodged a police report.

A police source said they are looking for the men aged between 20 and 30.

In the second incident, a 14-year-old schoolgirl and her 13-year-old brother were waiting for the school bus in Tampoi at 6.30am yesterday when a man drove up to them and identified himself as a policeman.

He told them to get into his car and demanded their MyKads.

When they could not produce the cards, the man took the siblings back to their house in Taman Johor.

However, when the girl’s brother went inside to get the identification cards, he sped off with the girl.

The man took the girl to a secluded area in Technology Park in Senai and raped her and left.

The girl managed to hail passers-by who took her home.

She lodged a report at the Tampoi police station at 9.30am, and was sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a medical check-up.

Police urged anyone with information on both cases to contact the police hotline at 07-221-2999 or the nearest police station.

Serious crime appears to be on the upswing.

On June 12, three men raped a 19-year-old girl and forced her 22-year-old boyfriend to watch.

The following day, a group of armed men took a couple on a terror ride before raping the 35-year-old woman in the presence of her friend, who was slashed.

On Monday, an unemployed man and his seven-month pregnant wife were found murdered in their home in Taman Desa Anggerik in Seremban.
