I was going to blog about something else when I got the news that my SIL’s hubby is having an affair.  Cheng! Cheng! Cheng!

A few weeks ago when I was visiting my FIL in the hospital, I overheard my MIL tell my wife that they suspected my SIL’s hubby was keeping ‘another one’.  I didn’t think much of it and felt that they were just suspecting, nothing more.

My MIL had always been that way.  Even in the beginning of my marriage, she would suspect me and always told my wife that.  Whenever I dressed up for a nite out with the boys, my MIL’s paranoia would act up.  When I got my ears pierced again, my MIL would tell my wife that I was having an affair.  When my cologne was too strong, she told my wife that I was going to meet my mistress.  A man would only smell so good when he’s going to meet a woman. :P  But there’s reason to my MIL’s paranoia.  My FIL did have three affairs in his lifetime.  Story for another day?

But now it’s been confirmed that SIL’s hubby is seeing another woman.

My sister inlaw came over this evening with two other aunts and they quickly told my wife to go into the other room to talk.  I told them they could talk in the living room as I wanted to work in my room anyway.  I knew something was up and I thought it was something to do with wifey’s grandma.

As the evening went on, they became more ‘kek tung’.  They forgot I could hear them in my room.

I think it all started when SIL found sms messages in her hubby’s phone.  The messages were quite lovey dovey.  I heard her say one message was ‘I’ve reached home. Goodnite. Dream of me ok? Muaks muaks" :P  Mind you the hubby has also been ‘working late’ quite often.

She confronted the hubby and he tried to brush it a side by saying it was a wrong number.  Then he said it was really nothing.  SIL was just overreacting.

SIL started checking his mobile whenever she could and saw more of the same type of messages.  She then warned him about it and threatened him with the kids.  She said she would go to a sifoo (fortune teller) and pray that his kids would fall sick.  The hubby is one of those who strongly believe in such things.

She also called the number up together with my MIL and spoke to the girl.  The girl said that the hubby told her he was still single. :P  My MIL advised the girl to not be so stupid and to leave the guy alone.

But the messages kept coming.

I heard SIL say one night the girl sent a message to her husband asking if he wanted to have breakfast tomorrow.  SIL replied and warned the girl to stop ‘kacau’ing the hubby or else she will stick a knife up the girl’s cheebye.  My wife and aunts laughed.  So did I. :P

I don’t know or heard that there were any problems in their marriage.  Both of them are still young.  My SIL is 27, two years younger than the hubby.  They’ve only been married not more than 5 years.  Their second kid arrived earlier this year.

If you’re thinking my SIL has lost shape and become like a silai, you’re totally wrong.  Although she had two kids, my SIL still looks like the day she got married.  My wife’s family is blessed with genes that many women would envy.

The hubby isn’t rich.  He just holds a 9 to 5 job.  Drives a Waja.  I wouldn’t say he is good looking, just like any normal guy you see on the street.

So what could be the problem?  Who knows.  I’ve got my own problems rite? :P
